It has been called the most important case ever tried in El Paso. The family of
a killed Makyla worker was settled out of court with the company their daughter worked for. This was the first time someone from another country has sued a United States multinational corporation in US courts. It also raised an important issue with US companies operating abroad using different safety standards for different countries.
