UPS Truck Kills One in Tragic Indiana Collision
A tragic incident on Tuesday morning along I-65 North in Indiana, resulted in the loss of life. The Indiana State Police Sellersburg initiated an investigation into the fatal crash, which occurred at the 21-mile marker on the northbound side of the interstate, according to available information.
Emergency responders were summoned to the scene of a three-vehicle collision near Henryville. They discovered the lifeless body of 55-year-old Matthew Shannon Campbell, a resident of Austin, Indiana.
According to the investigation information, a white Dodge pickup truck was traveling northward on I-65, towing a flatbed trailer. One of the trailer’s units dislodged and fell onto the roadway. Campbell, who was driving a Chevy Malibu on I-65 North, encountered the fallen A/C unit with his vehicle before the pickup truck’s driver could safely remove it from the road, according to official reports from the Indiana State Police.
As Campbell exited his car, a UPS semi-truck changed lanes in a bid to avoid colliding with the Malibu. This maneuver as Campbell exited from his vehicle, led to a devastating collision with the semi-truck that claimed Campbell’s life.
