Two Killed in Deadly Ohio Collision Involving Tractor-Trailer

A  fatal crash involving a semi occurred on November 30, 2023, in Ohio on I-77, where two individuals lost their lives.

The collision, involving a semi-truck on I-77 South, resulted in the hospitalization of two more individuals, according to officials. The semi collided with a 37-year-old’s car and a vehicle occupied by a 29-year-old and a 32-year-old inside. The semi struck all three individuals. According to official reports, the 37-year-old was critically injured and transported to the hospital.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victims as 29-year-old Johnny Brooks from Wadsworth and 32-year-old Gertrude Stutler from Rittman.

According to officials, Johnny Brooks and Gertrude Stutler exited their vehicles after an initial crash involving another car, driven by a 37-year-old man from Broadview Heights.

Officials said a Ford hatchback was heading south on I-77 when it veered off the left side of the road, hit the median wall, and became disabled in the far-right lane. Investigators mentioned that two people in the Chevrolet and the man in the Ford all exited their vehicles.

A Freightliner heading southbound in the far-right lane collided with the Ford and the Chevrolet. All three people who exited their cars were struck. The impact flipped the semi onto its side. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene and others were seriously injured, according to available information.
