January 8th, 2024 David James McGarrah lost his life in a tragic rear-end collision on Interstate 40 west of Tucumcari, in New Mexico, as reported by New Mexico State Police.

According to authorities, the sequence of events began when a big rig collided with a van driven by 71-year-old McGarrah, of Neosho, Missouri.  The incident occurred in the westbound lanes of the freeway near milepost 291. The 21-year-old male driver of the semi-truck collided with  Mr. McGarrah’s passenger van.  A chain reaction ensued, involving 43 additional vehicles in the pileup

Emergency personnel transported McGarrah, aged 71, and his 70-year-old passenger to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, McGarrah passed away.   Several others sustained injuries in the crash
