Nebraska Man Killed in Missouri Semi-Truck Collision

A Nebraska man lost his life in a commercial truck accident on Interstate 29 in Missouri on January 16, 2024 when the  2021 Freightliner tractor-trailer he was driving, traveling southbound,  crashed into an overpass near Z Highway in Platte County at around 12:10 a.m. 

The victim, a 70-year-old man from Omaha, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to available information, The Missouri Department of Transportation is actively investigating the safety of the Z Highway Overpass, underscoring the need for heightened awareness and precautions for large vehicles. 

Additionally, this collision took place around midnight which is one of the most dangerous times for truck collisions to occur.  Danger Zone driving between the hours of 11 pm and 6 am is a recognized hazard.
