More than 30 Vehicles Involved in Multi-Vehicle Idaho Crash
Idaho State Police are currently investigating a multi-vehicle collision that occurred on Monday around 8 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 86 in Idaho, west of Pocatello.
A dense fog enveloped the interstate, drastically reducing visibility and slowdown of vehicles. This led to a series of collisions involving unsafe driving in inclement weather, especially for commercial vehicles, resulting in a chain reaction involving approximately 30 vehicles, according to available information.
Multiple injuries were reported
The crash involved over 30 cars and semi-trucks, with some vehicles appearing to be severely damaged, according to available information.
According to an ISP news release, several people with injuries were taken to the hospital by ambulance or personal vehicles. ISP has identified fog and reduced visibility as significant contributors to the crash, emphasizing that the collision was a result of vehicles colliding and triggering a chain reaction.
