Kansas Mother and 10-Year-Old Girl Killed in Semi-Truck Collision

A semi-truck accident took the lives of a Kansas woman and her 10-year-old daughter in a devastating two-vehicle collision in Marion County. 

The Kansas Highway Patrol’s investigation revealed that the fatal incident occurred on December 13 northeast of Marion. The collision occurred in a work zone controlled by the Kansas Department of Transportation. According to available information, a semi-truck, waiting for a flagger’s signal was on the street without any reported warnings like triangles or flares when it was struck by Mrs. Henson’s car which failed to stop, colliding with the rear of the truck.

Jessica Henson, a graduate of Wetmore High School’s class of 1999, had roots in the Goff and Wetmore area. Surviving Jessica are her 16-year-old son, Ayden, as well as her father, Rick Kirk, and brother, Sam Kirk, residing in Goff.
