Hemet, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by FedEx Truck at Florida Ave & Hamilton Ave

Hemet, CA (February 2, 2026) – A fatal pedestrian accident was reported on Sunday, February 1, at the intersection of Florida Avenue and Hamilton Avenue in Hemet. 

According to preliminary information from the Hemet Police Department, a FedEx delivery driver struck a pedestrian at the intersection. Unfortunately, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the victim’s identity has not yet been released. Police said the truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators. 

Emergency responders from the Hemet Fire Department and local law enforcement arrived at the scene and secured the area. Authorities reported that the roadway would remain closed for an extended period while investigators processed the scene and awaited the arrival of the Riverside County Coroner.

The incident was reported just before 6:50 p.m., and dispatch records indicate the initial emergency response was cleared after approximately 37 minutes, though the investigation remains ongoing.
