FedEx Truck Crashes, Dangles Over NY Bridge

According to reports from the New York State Police, the driver of the FedEx truck has been identified as Muhammad M. Shujja-Udeen, 35, from Binghamton, NY. The FedEx tractor-trailer allegedly sideswiped a 2020 Chevy Tahoe, causing the truck to veer off the road and overturn.

The Chevy Tahoe, driven by Niayla O. Dixon, 23, of Lockport, NY, was carrying three adults and an infant at the time of the collision. Teyonna J. Walker, 30, from Buffalo, NY, sustained minor injuries in the crash, highlighting the vulnerability of occupants in passenger vehicles when sideswiped by a large commercial truck.

The FedEx driver,Shujja-Udeen, was reportedly found conscious and alert by firefighters at the scene. He was received a traffic citation related to the accident. 

This incident underscores the pressing need for training, safety and enforcement of safety regulations within the trucking industry. As authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, it is imperative to address systemic issues at FedEx that contribute to such accidents.
