One person lost their life in a multi-vehicle collision in East El Paso along Interstate 10 on the evening of Saturday, March 23, according to El Paso Police.  

The collision occurred around 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of Interstate 10 and the Lee Trevino on-ramp. The Special Traffic Investigations unit was sent to the site, probing the rollover accident involving a semi-truck. Fire dispatch indicated that five vehicles were caught up in the collision.

The impact of the crash led to the closure of I-10 East at Lee Trevino and Gateway East at Lee Trevino for several hours as law enforcement conducted their investigation and emergency crews worked to clear the scene.

A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to provide support to the family of Steve Elijah Carmona, the man whose family reported his passing in the multi-vehicle collision.
