A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 near Colorado Springs on March 3, 2024 caused significant injuries. The incident occurred at the intersection of I-25 and South Academy in the early evening.

The vehicles involved in the crash included a semi-truck carrying Teslas, a Ford F-150, a Chevrolet Silverado, a Mercury Grand Marquis, and a Dodge Challenger.

According to information available, the semi-truck driver initially struck a barrier on the right side of the road. Overcorrecting, the driver caused the semi-truck to veer across lanes. The semi-truck then collided with another barrier on the opposite side, subsequently hitting the Ford F-150 and Silverado. Then the semi-truck overturned.

The driver and passenger in the Silverado sustained serious injuries, requiring hospitalization. The Mercury Grand Marquis and Dodge Challenger were hit by debris but were not directly involved in the collision. Emergency response teams, including the Fountain Fire Department, Police Department, Colorado State Patrol, SEMA Construction, Fort Carson Fire Department, Security Fire Department, and El Paso County Hazmat, swiftly arrived at the scene.

This incident underscores the potential dangers associated with commercial truck accidents and emphasizes the importance of safe driving practices. When commercial trucks drive unsafely, drive distracted or fatigued, veer out of control, lives are endangered.
